Almery & Company

A natural skin care studio in Huntington Beach with a modern Victorian aesthetic.

WORTH NOTING

Almery was formerly a cold, dead, office space with a lot of potential. We spent a lot of time on surfaces to get away from that office feeling. First we tackled the concrete floors. They were polished, stained, and then finished by hand painting natural fractures to look like gold veins running through stone. Walls were given very pale hues of matte paint. Each room was given new ceiling treatments – some handmade.  The last remnant of office was an ugly steel load bearing pole in the middle of the lobby. We made the most of it by turning it into a Grecian pillar. For our focal point we found a early 1900’s mahogany architectural piece that was salvaged from an old hotel. This paired with a custom cash wrap counter (made from salvaged oak doors) helped to make the entrance a statement. The rest of the job was sourcing interesting antiques, art, rugs, and lighting.
